So this weekend a local bad-ass wine, liquor, and beer store here in Indy was having a sale on pretty much everything in the store. Beer was 15% off, and as I was perusing the beer coolers, I thought what a perfect time to try some Dogfish 90 Minute? After all, higher-priced beer means a higher discount, right? Okay, that logic doesn't really work, but after trying and reviewing the 60 Minute, and being told this was much better I decided I wanted to give it a shot. Read on and see if I agreed with those assessments, or if I was glad I at least got it at a discount.
Yeah, I know it's February and a really odd time to post a review of an Oktoberfest, but this was a second offering thanks to my friend's dad last Sunday. While this is a few months out of season, Paulaner Oktoberfest is one of those that keeps its flavor for awhile so I think the assessment of this one should not be hindered too much, if at all, by the delay in getting to try it. It has also been changed from a seasonal to a year-round beer. This one has been dubbed the #1 Oktoberfest bier in the world. Read on to see if I agree with that statement or not.
Last Sunday afternoon I went to a birthday party prior to the Super Bowl at a friend's house. His dad seems to track down quite a bit of different beers to try, and this was one of them that my friend and I tried out. I'm not personally a huge porter fan, but I have nothing against it. Read on to see how the Fuller's London Porter taste test came out.
In the spirit of Zach returning to reviews, and because before his none had been posted for 2 months (I will blame the holidays, how's that?) I decided to get down a review of something I have wanted to review for awhile: Breckenridge 471 IPA. I got my first taste of this at Shallo's, a way cool bar on the southside of town (also reviewed under Bar Reviews), and was able to partake the last time we were there for an Upland event. This was my second Breckenridge selection ever, with the first being the Avalanche (review also coming soon). Read on and see how this one stacked up.
So, I'm finally doing a review after a long ass absence. Now that I have switched jobs, hopefully I can devote some more time to the site so it doesn't get as stale. Of course, that doesn't explain Ken's laziness, but I guess I shouldn't say too much since he has posted more reviews than me.
Anyway, I guess I should get to the review. Of course, the return event had to be a quality malt. Unfortunately, we got Camo Black Ice XXXXX instead. We weren't really sure if the 5 Xs were technically part of the title, but there were other Camo options, so I guess that is important to this brew.
