As if I didn't have enough to drink on Sunday with the Michelob selections in the afternoon, I was afforded the opportunity at a party that night to have one of a 12 pack of Session that Zach brought back from a trip to Florida. This beer isn't available anywhere in the vicinity of our state that I know of, so I jumped at the chance to try this one. Read on to see how it stacked up in my review Trifecta of this past Sunday's choices.
Ken's ReviewTaste: A- Session is a very smooth lager that doesn't really have a lot of bite to it. It's taste is reminiscent of most lager beers but on a toned down, more mellow level. There is a slight hint of citrus to it, but not enough that you really even notice unless you analyze the beer taste thoroughly. I was quite impressed and enjoyed the taste of this, and was kind of sad I couldn't partake in more than one. Packaging: B- The packaging on Session is pretty plain, and almost reminiscent of Red Stripe with more red to the label than white. Session comes in an 11 ounce dark bottle, and has a small opening to drink from, which I kind of like. It helps you get more from it, I think, and the size of the bottle is great for holding purposes as well. Value: ? Zach will have to fill everyone in on his review of this one (if he ever does one! lol). Since it isn't available to me to check, and he was the one that purchased, he would be more of the authority in this area. Drunkeness: B- Session comes in at 5.1% alcohol content. Kind of an interesting number, but decent because it's at a nice level that it would take a handful of these to really get you in the process of getting messed up on it. Not that I would want to know what that was like, but there are worse ones to get sick on than this. Overall: A- I enjoyed Session, and I'm looking forward to any opportunity in the future to try it again. Not sure when that is going to be, but I'm glad I did get to experience the great taste of this beer. If you are in an area that has it, and you haven't already become a fan, grab some to try out. It's not strong in taste, and I do know makes a great accompaniment to steak. Last update: 05-20-2009 22:27
