Holy crap, it has been a long time since I've written a review. But between work and social obligations, the time just seems to fly by. That is not to say that drinking has ceased during that period, because it has not. Now that we are officially into summer, I've chosen to write about a great beer for the hotter weather. Yes, the one that lime wedges were meant for! So have a great summer everyone, and more reviews will come very soon!
Ken's ReviewTaste: A- Taste is a definite highlight of this beer. It has a very crisp taste to it and goes down very smooth, with little to no after-taste. Adding the lime to it gives it just that little extra to the taste, making this all-around great drink for those who don't like a real deep beer taste. Packaging: A Nothing too hateful to say about the packaging. There are what appear to be two fossils on either side of a crown underneath the name. Then below the crown reads "La Cerveza Mas Fina". Since I never took espanol, I had to rely on an online translator to decode the meaning of this, which is "The Fine Beer". I agree! While the label isn't as flashy as some beers, it isn't over-the-top either. It really reflects the nature of this brew. Value: B- This isn't a beer that you want to buy to get drunk cheap. While it isn't outrageously priced, it does price a little higher than most because it is an import, and, I assume, because it kicks ass. If you are looking to get yourself blitzed with little money, I would recommend going with something along the lines of Natural Light or Pabst. If you want quality for the price, this is a good one to pick. Drunkeness: B Can't give too many props on drunkeness, personally for this beer. I've sat and had my fill before feeling really good about myself. The main reason is that Corona Extra only comes in at 4.6%, which is a decent amount less than a lot of beers. This is more of the type you want to slowly start a night of drinking off with, or use to just unwind from a rough day. Great for taking the edge off, but hard on the wallet to get plastered. Overall: B Corona Extra is a great choice for those who like to maybe have a beer after work, or one to relax on the patio with. While the taste definitely propels this into one of my more favorite beers, I cannot use this as a platform for mental incapacity. Quite frankly, I don't make that kind of money. If you haven't tried this beer, you should definitely grab one at the bar. Do not buy a 6- or 12-pack until you know you like it, because it's too much money to be spending for something you'll be giving to your neighbors later if you don't. Last update: 06-29-2007 16:00
