While at a party this weekend Zach brought along the Michelob variety pack, and this was one I got to try out. I have enjoyed a lot of the Michelob family of products I've tried in the past, and was curious how this stacked up considering I am also a fan of red beers as well. See what I thought by reading more.

Ken's Review

Taste: A- Michelob Irish Red has a nice rich taste to it. You definitely get that it is a red when you take a swig, but then it quickly fades into a mild, clean finish on your tongue as it goes down. I like this one because you kind of get both sides of the coin, so to speak, in taste as cleanliness.

Packaging: B Michelob labels are pretty notorious for not being anything overly special. Irish Red has a red label with Michelob Irish Red in big letters, and "All Malt Ale" underneath in smaller letters. Below the name is what appears to be a scoop with some hops in it or something. It is hard to make out, and I unfortunately did not keep the label or bottle.

Value: B+ I don't know what the sixers of this would go for, but given that most Michelob products are pretty inexpensive, I'm sure this one comes in at a nice price. I would venture to say expecting to pay anywhere from $5 - $7 for a sixer, which is totally worth it with their stuff.

Drunkeness: A Michelob Irish Red comes in at a sweet 5.7% alcohol content, making it a great choice for getting to buzzed quickly without the use of liquor or nasty beers with higher content but no taste. This one does not mess around on alcohol content, and I'm glad I didn't have more than one because I didn't know the content until the next day and this was the follow-up to a sixer of another beer.

Overall: B+ Overall the Michelob Irish Red was not too shabby. The pricing and alcohol content, along with the taste, make this a definite good choice for those who enjoy red brews, and like to get the buzz-factor up quickly for little money. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys reds to give this one a shot. Don't know how those who do not like reds will take it, but it is definitely worth trying once.
