Review of Michelob Marzen

I decided to pick up Michelob's seasonal variety pack last weekend. The first beer I grabbed was the Marzen. See what I thought about it and find out whether or not its worth trying.

Taste: A The taste is actually quite surprising. The beer is very well balanced and the caramel malts go well with the beer as a whole. The bitterness of the hops and the sweetness of the malts seem to go together nicely. Traditionally Marzen in my view isn't always so balanced. It is kind of nice for a change.
Packaging: B As you can see the packaging is pretty much standard. Its nice but not nothing worth writing home about.
Value: A I drooped about $10.99 on a 12 pack. That is actually not to bad for seasonal beer and well worth it so far from what I can see. It is definitely worth buying it once to give it a try.
Drunkenness: C The ABV comes in at 5.1%. I really wouldnt buy this beer to get drunk on. Seasonal beers tend to be very rich and really, it is kind of a crime to slam these.
Overall: A- I was really surpised by this beer. Alot of times bigger breweries murder seasonals. This one wasn't too shabby. The thing I love about American breweries is they tend to try to balance out the beers more in taste. That is not always good but it is sometimes just what you need. In the end it's up to you. I say give it a try.
