Here is another seasonal brew from one of my favorite brewers, Leinenkugel's. I had tried this a few weeks ago but didn't get enough to write a valid review of it. Last night at a get-together at Zach's he had a sixer of this so I had a couple, and am ready to give the review. Read on to see if this one met my expectations of quality in comparison to their other selections.

Ken's Review

Taste: A- If you are a fan of nutty tasting beers, then the Fireside Nut Brown is definitely for you. When you drink it you get more of a nut taste out of it than a beer taste, and it comes through in a way that makes you feel like you are sitting in front of a nice, relaxing fireplace. This is a great seasonal taste for the winter holiday season, and one that the taste stays in your mouth just long enough to make it really enjoyable.

Packaging: A Leinenkugel's packaging is much like Sam Adams, where the relative layouts are the same but the colors and images are different. The Fireside Nut Brown is a dark burnt red color, with a picture of a fireplace in the background. The color and picture scheme definitely gives the right emotion for this beer.

Value: A I got this beer for free, but Leinenkugel's generally runs in the same price range for all their beer, which is around $6.99 to $7.99 a sixer, which is definitely a good price for the quality of taste. Don't be afraid to spend that money on their products, as they are well worth it for a resonable price.

Drunkeness: B The Fireside Nut Brown comes in at a modest 4.9% alcohol content. While this is a little lower than some beers, this isn't one that you would necessarily buy to get blitzed on. This is more of a beer to have to relax with, as the nutty taste would not be pleasant at all coming back up from drinking too much.

Overall: A- Once again, Leinenkugel's met my approval with the Fireside Nut Brown. I am typically not a huge fan of nutty beers, but this is one that I would never turn down if offered. With the winter and holiday season coming fast, this is a perfect beer to enjoy on a cold day inside or at a bar with a meal. You will not be disappointed with this one.
