Review of Dortmunder Actien-Brauerei Original

So hanging out at Zach and Cari's last night (where else?) there were some random samples they began to get overstocked on, so that resulted in a sort of "drink our beer" party. One of the selections in the fridge was the Dortmunder Actien-Brauerei Original, or DAB for short, which I may end up referring to in that manner because the actual name is a bitch to type. But the taste? Read on to see if it was easier to drink than pronounce.
Ken's Review
Taste: B+ The DAB Original came in with a taste that sort of border-lined being good and so-so. It takes a second or two to get the taste of this beer going on your taste buds, and it comes across with one medium-size kick in taste then mellows off pretty fast and smoothly. Aside from that "kick", the beer is a little more bland than I would have liked, but the kick does do some redemption in this department and is not bad overall.
Packaging: B DAB comes in a green bottle, not uncommon for a beer from Germany in this style. The label has DAB in big white letters on a green background, while (ugh) Dortmunder Actien-Brauerei is in smaller green letters on a white background underneath. At the bottom of the label in a gold bar it reads "The Beer of World Fame". I don't know if I would agree this would be a world famous beer, but I could see where that might be possible.
Value: ? This is one of those that I have no clue on. If I get the info on the pricing I'll be sure to update this in the future.
Drunkeness: B- DAB, somewhat surprisingly, comes in at a flat 5% alcohol content. I don't know, I kind of thought this would be more, and was a little surprised to see it was only 5%. Not sure I would want to get drunk on this stuff, however, as one or two bottles will probably do you on the taste and by then you will want to be on to something else.
Overall: B+ Other than the long-ass name, I think DAB Original comes in as a pretty decent beer overall. I always like going outside the realm of domestics to taste some imports that I cannot easily get, and this one did not disappoint. If you are a fan of German lagers you will probably enjoy this one, so if you have the chance I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
