Review of Mad Anthony's India Pale Ale

The local gas station here started stocking Mad Anthony beer. I was pleasantly surprised because I have often stopped at Mad Anthony's and had a couple drinks but I have never had there bottled beer. The one I picked up this week was their India Pale Ale.
Rex's Review
Taste: B+ This is definitely a competitor in pale ales. It starts out with a strong grapefruit bite and has a very bitter but not overdone middle to it. It all finishes very well with just a bit of lingering aftertaste to it for a pale ale.
Packaging: A The packaging is very nice. It has a reddish orange background with decorative hops and a picture of the inside of their distillery in the background. Their label seems to instill a certain since of pride in what they have accomplished.
Value: B I paid $7.99 for this beer at the local gas and grocery. You might be able to find this beer a little cheaper at a local liquor store or even better yet at Mad Anthony itself. I would say for a beer of this quality I would not mind forking over the extra cash every once in awhile.
Drunkenness: A This beer is a champ in this category coming in at 6.5% A.B.V. It has a tendency to fool you though; you would have never guessed the potency from the taste. Unfortunately you pay a hefty price the next day with a not so beautiful hangover. I would end your night with a couple glasses of water.
Overall: A This beer is something truly to be proud of, Mad Anthony has gotten it right so many times and they definitely deserve a round of applause. If you have the extra money laying around and you deserve a break from it all, I would shell out the bucks for it. This beer is a good way to top of a day of hard work and enjoy the serenity of a good buzz paired with a great taste.
