So apparently, there is a new marketing tactic being used by the makers of Corona, Grupo Modelo, which is going to utilize Facebook in a way that I could totally see opening up a new spectrum of marketing and advertising ideas. Personally, I say fuck that. Every day we are already bombarded with constant advertisements; billboards; television commercials; hell, even when you try to watch a simple news story online you have to deal with this crap.

The twist here, though? If you "Like" Corona Light's Facebook Fan Page, you get access to an app that will allow you to upload pictures that will be shown on a billboard in--wait for it--New York City's Times Square. Yes, you can have who-knows-how-many-people seeing your face pimping Corona Light for probably 5 seconds.

Okay, I know I'm sounding crass about this, but seriously. I wouldn't be excited about this opportunity for a quality beer. That's just me, though. I don't personally want myself on a billboard in Times Square unless it is for something I got paid a fat stack of cash for. Anyway, by about day 4 I'm sure no one will give a shit about the billboard anymore and just want it to go away.
