I decided to commandere the first liquor review, and what better way to start this section than with the Bob Hebenstreit favorite of Goldschlager?  My apologies to those of you who do not know Bob, for there is nothing better than getting to do your first ever shot of this stuff with this guy, who drinks it like it is the best damn liquid ever made.  I won't say it is the best, but it's pretty close.

Ken's Review

Taste: A-  Goldschlager is a great liquor to try, even if you are not a fan of cinnamon, like me.  The taste settles nicely on your tongue as you swallow it, and you can actually feel the warmth of it going down your neck, to your chest, then to your stomach.  The after taste is okay, aside from that it makes the back of your throat feel numb for a few minutes.  The blend of warmth and cinnamon is quite nice.

Packaging: B  Goldschlager comes in a clear bottle and is pretty basic, aside from the gold medallion set in the bottle's glass.  The words "Imported Goldschlager" are in black lettering, with a round symbol that says "Real Gold Flakes".  These flakes are what give Goldschlager its uniqueness, and you can see them sitting in the bottom of an untouched bottle.  The best way to drink this is to get the flakes going in the liquid, then pour a shot to get a few in your glass.

Value: B-  Goldschlager is not a cheap liquor, but not an outrageously expensive one either.  From a value standpoint I give it a B- because it is more of a drink you enjoy moderately.  A bottle of this stuff can last me months, just from the simple fact that it is better enjoyed on special occasions.

Drunkeness: A  I can't say that I have ever been drunk off this stuff, and from what I hear from those who have, you don't want to.  This 43.5% liquor can be a nasty one if you have too much, but works great to enhance the buzz when you are drinking beer.  A shot of this in the midst of a few (or several) beers will definitely boost the feeling of drunkeness.  I highly recommend you do not do a lot of this stuff at once, or you could be paying for it for awhile.

Overall: B    All-in-all, Goldschlager gets my props for its taste and ability to help get you buzzing.  From a cost standpoint, however, it is made even better when you can find someone else who has paid for it and will let you have a shot or two for free.  Even for a person like me who is not a fan of cinnamon, this is definitely worth trying at least once.
