Check out this can of 24/7. As an accompaniment to the wonderful world of Ice Man, Zach decided to bring along this lovely drink to my poker party. I had never heard of this stuff prior to seeing it in real life, but it definitely had some interesting characteristics to itself. Read on for those details....
Ken's ReviewTaste: B- I would have liked to give this beverage a little higher in the taste category, because when you first try it it is actually pretty good. The best comparison I can make to it would be like Mountain Dew Amp energy drink. The problem with this stuff on taste is that it is really sweet, and unless you pace yourself it gets to be a little too much. The really great part about this stuff (since there was nowhere more appropriate to put this little nugget) is that when you pour it into a glass, the liquid is actually green. I had already had a few swigs prior to discovering this, but it really freaks you out when you don't know. Packaging: C Packaging for a drink called 24-Seven could have been a lot more than what it was. It came in a blue can with a big "24" and smaller "Seven" underneath. This drink name says energy and night-life, but there was nothing really to inspire drinking this stuff, other than the name itself. Could have been a lot more flashy. But for the price, I guess that's too much to ask. Value: A- Value on this at 99 cents for a tall-boy is definitely a high point. Any more than that for this would be ludicrous, given the sweetness and alien green color. But you definitely cannot get too many malt beverages in a tall-boy for under a buck, so kudos to this one for being there for the broke asses. Drunkeness: B- This stuff comes in at a 7%, if I remember reading the can right. While this isn't an overly strong percentage, it is enough to do some damage. I only consumed about an 1/8 of a can, but that was enough for me to wake up at 4:30 in the morning with a nasty headache. On top of what I had already drank, it was enough to give me a few good pukes before I felt better. If that's a positive or negative, I'm not quite sure. Overall: C+ This drink didn't impress me enough to give higher marks than this in the overall. While the green color was definitely cool and surprising, the taste was just a little too overwhelming and my 4:30am trash can praying was not something that swings in this drinks favor. The name is good, and the cost is borderline fantastic, but even that doesn't really make it any better for me. Last update: 03-12-2007 17:09
