This is a beer that I picked up at the liquor store along with the Magic Hat Roxy Rolles, and I'll explain in the review some of the motivators to even touch something made from Heileman's. Never trying their stuff before, I thought the trip would be an ample opportunity to do so, seeing as how I never really noticed this stuff in Indy anywhere. Awhile back Zach did a review on Old Style, which he completely shredded. See if the Special Export suffers the same fate, or if this one actually surprised.

This is the first of a few reviews that will be done thanks to my trip this weekend to Chicago with fellow reviewer Jason. We stopped at a liquor store after grabbing some lunch, and I found this Autumn Seasonal from Magic Hat. Being a huge fan of the #9, I was very interested to try this one since the fall/Oktoberfest season seems to bring out a really nice selection of seasonals. See if the offering from Magic Hat stacked up or not by reading on.

Last night during some pre-Sunday Night Football festivities at Zach and Cari's, we broke out a can of the Maui Brewing Company Coconut Porter to share. This came back with Zach along with the Bikini Blonde Lager, reviewed earlier. After the success of the Bikini Blonde, read on to see if Maui Brewing Company kept the streak going, or crashed and burned with this one.

I love drinking red wine. White wine is fine with food, but red wine you can enjoy with a meal or by itself (preferably in a dark and seedy bar listening to live jazz). However, I have found that many people avoid reds. Why? Good question! First of all- no refrigeration; you can drink this anywhere! Second- red wine is good for you! (OK, in moderation, but you don’t EVER hear that white wine, tequila or beer is good for you). Cheers!- Susan

This was one of the rare times I got to try a beer at the brewery it was made. Last weekend I went with Zach and Cari to the Upland Brewery for their "Hillbilly Haiku" festival, a day of food, bands, and (of course) beer all for charity. Preservation Pilsner was one of the choices for purchase, and being as this is one of the ones I had not tried yet, I decided to go for it. Read on and see how this one did.
