This was another selection that Zach picked up from his trip to California. I remember reading prior to the election that Half Moon Bay Brewing had made an Obama and a McCain beer, and this one became the one for Obama winning the nomination. I had not seen this actually available anywhere around here, so I was glad to hear that he was able to find a bottle to pick up before supply had completely run out. Read on and see how the Presidential Ale experience went.

Zach was kind enough to bring this back from a recent trip to California last weekend, and I had a chance to hang out with him and Cari Sunday night to partake in it. If I remember right I think this is the first beer I have ever had brewed in Hawaii. So read on and see how this first experience with a Hawaiian beer went.

Thanks to my friend Geoff's dad, I had the chance to try this at Geoff's house last night. I had it once before at his house but it was mixed in with some other beers so I didn't really remember it accurately enough to write a review. Since there were still a few hanging around in the fridge last night at a party I decided to crack another one open and commit the taste to memory. Being a big fan of the original Pabst Blue Ribbon, read on to see how this one stacks up.

One a recent trip to Canada, I decided to pick up a bunch of Canadian brews to bring back and sample. While most of them were of the microbrew type, I decided to go ahead and give some good ol’ Canadian macro brewing a shot. Actually, one of the reasons I was drawn to this was the 750 mL can. I was planning on pounding this down in my hotel room, but ran out of time, so Ken got the honor of sampling it with me on a recent night.

Recently, I went on a work trip to the San Francisco Bay area and had enough time to make a trip to Russian River Brewing. For those who don’t know, Russian River is a brewery based in Santa Rosa that makes some interesting and tasty microbrews. They are largely distributed in Northern California, but apparently can be found in a few places outside of the area. They are known for their Belgian style beer and for doing lots of barrel aging. In this instance, I decided to give their pilsner a shot instead to see what they could do in this arena.Last Updated on Tuesday, 25 August 2009 21:14
